Carpets having the characteristics of Caucasian carpets with very valuable dyes and wool are woven at Kars, a border town located in the northeast of Turkey. Geometric figures are dominant in these completely woollen carpets. Stylized eagle figures are frequently in line with traditions. The Kars carpets woven at Nigde for the time being exist in a different version. The naps of these are longer and pastel colors are dominant. Eyes and carnations are the most commonly used figures. These are very decorative carpets containing 60-80 thousand per square metre.
